Radiola



Way in the back of the old garage, there was once a Radiola. After being there for about 20 years in the damp, musty air, the radio had deteriorated very badly. At that point, dad decided that I may as well tear it apart. If only I had known back then...

The picture above shows the tabletop version. The one I had was a console.



This Radiola 16 was also in bad shape. Back in the 50's and 60's, these sets weren't old enough to be considered valuable.

If there's a lesson to be learned, save everything. The only problem is where to keep it.



Here's what happened to the tuning dial. Just like my Crosley sets, the cast metal drum just fell apart.
