Motorola

This Motorola 65L12 was also cool.

When I got it, it was very distorted. All it needed was to have several paper caps replaced, along with some careful straightening of the tuning cap plates. Very good performing set.

The Motorola Pixie is a collectible set.

It used three subminiature pencil tubes for the IF, first audio, and the output. They hadn't figured out how to squeeze a pentagrid converter into that small of a package.

The power supply was a "C" cell and a 45 volt B battery. This particular radio picked up a Louisiana station from New York without any external antenna.

Here's a view of the inside of the Pixie.
