Japanese Transistor Radios Part 2
This Olympic radio would have some value if the knob wasn't broken.
A few typical pocket radios.
This Belson radio came in a grab bag. One of the surplus mail-order places would offer transistor radios as-is for $1.50 each. I got a lot of them to work, but many of them were pretty worn-out.
This one had pretty good sound, so I added some more negative feedback to see what would happen. Of course, the gain went way down, but the frequency response widened to the point where the radio would actually produce bass response. Good quality, but you have to keep it right up to your ear.
This SR-826 Micronic Ruby by Standard is smaller than the more common micro radios which ran on a single penlight cell. The main drawback of this radio is that it uses two 826 mercury cells. Very expensive and hard to find.
The other set is a small AM radio which fits over the ear.
